REPENTANCE We believe that repentance is a Godly sorrow for sin and includes conviction of sin, hatred of sin, forsaking sin and turning to God. (II Corinthians 7:10). SALVATION We believe that except man be born again, he cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven, that the new birth is a change of heart, expressed in life, wrought by the Spirit of God in regenerative power, so that we become a new creature in Christ. (John 3:5). WATER BAPTISM We believe that water baptism is a type of death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By our submitting to it, we identify ourselves with His death, His burial , and His resurrection. It is not a saving ordinance, but is an outward symbol of an inward grace (public testimony). Repentance and faith on the part of the individual is the condition to receiving baptism. We subscribe to Emerson as the correct method. Our Lord commanded His disciples to teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. We believe the above formula to be the one to be administered when baptizing. (Matthew 28:19). We believe that baptism should be observed by all who have truly repented and believe in Christ as their Savior. (Mark 16:16). DIVINE HEALING Divine Healing has been believed by the Saints of God both in the Old and New Testaments. It was the credentials of the early Church, and from the Scriptures we believe that it is given to the Church today and until Jesus returns. The Church's ministry is one of deliverance and this is definitely a part of that ministry. Divine healing is wrought by the Spirit of God when we come believing. (Mark 16:18, Matthew 1:10 and James 5:14-26. BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We believe that all believers should seek to know more about the Lord in His fullness of power. Jesus told us that, "When the Holy Ghost is come upon you, ye shall receive power to be witnesses unto me." Therefore, we need the infilling of His Spirit, in our lives to have the power to witness for him. The Holy Spirit is also the comforter in the heart of the believer. He is also the one who sanctifies our lives that we might be used by our Master. By a progressive and continuous process in our lives, He leads us from glory to glory, until ultimately, we stand by His side in a glorified body. This still being the Holy Spirit dispensation, the believer, has every reason to expect His coming into their lives as in the early Church. We also believe in the supernatural, physical manifestation of speaking with other tongues. (Acts 2:4, 110:44-46 and 19:6). GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit gives His gifts unto each as He wills. We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit that were manifested in the early Church are for the Church today and that they should be sought by all believers. (I Corinthians 12:5-10 and 14:1). SECOND COMING OF CHRIST We believe Jesus Christ is coming again to receive unto Himself, his purchased own. It is mentioned many times in the Scriptures. We believe that His coming will be a literal, bodily, visible return. We should seek to live and work in view of His soon coming. (Matthew 24, John 14:32, Acts 1:11 and I Thessalonian 4:14-29). THE LORD'S SUPPER We believe that the believers in Jesus Christ should partake of this sacrament in remembrance of the finished work of Calvary, until He comes again. We do not hold a closed communion. It is open to all believers in Christ who might be in our midst. We believe that each person should examine their own heart, as to whether they are doing it in remembrance of the Lord's death or just as a custom or ritual. I Corinthians 11:28-3). HEAVEN We believe in three heavens. The first heaven being the atmosphere surrounding the earth, (the air which we breath). The second heaven is outer space, beyond our atmosphere, and the third Heaven, the (Heaven of Heavens), being the dwell place of God. (John 4:2) HELL We believe that all who refuse God's plan of salvation will be eventually lost and will go to hell where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched. This place will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire with the Devil and his angels. (Mark 9:42-48 and Revelation 21:14). JUDGMENT We believe that everyone must meet God in judgment sometime and that there are different judgments. (1) At Calvary, when one accepts the plan of salvation for themselves and has had their sins judged in Christ's atoning work. (John 5:2, I John 1:9 and 2:11). (2) Self-judgment should be carried out by each believer. We should judge dour a c ts and works in the light of God's Word. (I Corinthians 11:31-32). (3) Judgment Seat of Christ. We believe that all believers will appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ to give an account of the deeds done in the body and to receive their reward for faithful service. We believe that we will not be judged for our sins, which was taken care of at Calvary, but will be judged as to how well we fulfilled the unction or destiny that God had prepared us for. (Roman's 14:10, I Corinthians 3:10-15 and II Corinthians 5:10). (4) Judgment of the Nations. We believe that God has judged nations all throughout history and will continue to do so, until He sets up His kingdom here on Earth. God will also judge the nations at Armageddon for their treatment of the brethren, "Jews." The nations who have been faithful to them, will be retained as sheep nations and the nations that have done despite to them will be cast out as goat nations. (Matthew 25:31-46). (5) Judgment of the Wicked Dead. We believe that all the wicked will stand before God to be judged for the extent of their wickedness, before receiving their position in the eternal lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15). RESURRECTION We believe in the resurrection from the dead and that there will be a resurrection for both the just and the unjust, and that they will be raised separately. The just into a resurrection of life and the unjust to a resurrection of damnation. These resurrections will not be together, but will be separate by approximately a period of one thousand years. We believe that the resurrected saints, who are blessed and have part in the first resurrection, will be raised with glorified bodies, like unto that which our blessed Lord was raised. (Daniel 12:2, John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15). FORNICATION AND ADULTERY We believe that both fornication and adultery to be sin. Fornication being voluntary sexual intercourse by someone who has never been married. Adultery is voluntary sexual intercourse by someone who is married, with someone they are not married to, commonly know as extra-marital sex. Both are in opposition to the Scriptures and we re-affirm our commitment to the Scriptures. Both are an act of unfaithfulness, either toward one's parents or to one's spouse. HOMOSEXUALITY AND SAME SEX MARRIAGE We believe that marriage is a spiritual, intellectual and physical union of one man and one woman and not between two people of the same sex. Due to apparent lowering of standards and the permissiveness of society in general, we re-affirm our commitment to the scriptures in opposition to same sex marriage and homosexually. (Matthew 5:27, I Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 519-21 and I Timothy 1:9-10). |
